A Fun Fundraiser!
Have a whole evening of fun and help support our Kauai community with:
- Community service projects
- Non-profit community grants
We know many of you share our concerns about the corona virus. To take appropriate precautions at this event, we are recommending that you refrain from hugging and shaking hands (not easy to do in our culture!). We also recommend that you do frequent hand washing and use the supplied sanitizer stations when you are unable to do a thorough hand washing.
One Fine Evening is one of our major fundraisers for the year. Donations go to the Rotary Club of Poipu Beach Community Foundation 501(c)(3) that funds many of the scholarships and community service projects of the club.
Our Scholarships and Community Programs
Throughout the year we organize and conduct service projects focused on youth, education, and community service. Youth and education projects include adopting projects at three south shore schools, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, Rotary Readers, and Dictionary Distribution to 3rd graders. Other community service projects include Keiki Holiday Party, Beach Rescue Tubes, Adopt a Highway, Movies in the Park, Prevent Suicide Walk, and others.
Each year we give scholarships to students in the Kauai Community College Culinary, Nursing, and Skilled Trades programs. In addition, we usually host an incoming Rotary Exchange Student and sponsor outgoing students.
Non-Profit Community Grants
We also partner with more than 15 other organizations to increase our joint community impact. Each year we provide monetary grants and support for specific projects in other organizations. Programs and organizations we partner with typically focus on youth after-school activities (sports, science, and the arts), youth education, food, and the environment.
